Our story
From a struggling wholesaler to a full-line foodservice distributor.
Stewart Foodservice is owned by industry veteran Aubrey MacMillan. He started out in the business over 50 years ago at Burgess Wholesale, then an egg-grading station, working his way up through deliveries, sales and management to owner of what has become one of the leading Canadian-owned foodservice distributors.
Aubrey sold the company and tried out retirement, but was soon lured back. In 1996 he bought Stewart Wholesale, then a struggling tobacco and confectionary wholesaler. Within a few years, Aubrey and his management team had transformed it into a modern, customer-driven full-line food distribution company.

Our territory managers provide up-to-date data on purchasing history, prices and product availability, with reports tailored to each customer's needs.
The right products
We sell nationally branded names and avoid private labels, because we insist on knowing what we are selling. If a customer does not see an item they need, we make every effort to find it.
